A sharing by Helen Chang for this song:
I have often been asked which country or city I like best since it is known to my dear friends that I have had the privilege to visit many places over the past decades.
Often I would ask them what aspect is such a question focused on? Supposing it refers to the majestic sceneries then it would be the Swiss Alps, or to the relaxing scenery, then it would be the lakesides in a few countries. But as to what truly endears my heart to any place, whichever country it may be, it surely has to do with the dear brethren and friends that are present in such a place. If any of them should no longer be at that place later, it sure makes me feel that something important is missing there. So, it is the people whom I would love to be with that endears my heart to a particular place rather than the place itself!
This, in fact, is a big change in my life by God’s power of renewal. If I were left to my natural character, I would simply not bother with people at all. This was due to my having grown up in a very trouble-filled family! The saying “home is where your heart is” just cannot be further from the truth in my earlier experience. My heart only belonged to myself back then! But God Yahweh saw fit to deal with me and changed me. So it is the presence of the dear brethren and friends that would make a place, a home of love, which my heart would long for.
If this is so with those brethren who belong to God Yahweh’s family, how very much more would His own presence endear my heart to Him. I simply cannot express the abundance of loving joy and peace that have been my portion since being allowed into God’s presence through the precious blood of the Lord Jesus! God Yahweh’s presence is here for me to seek, to draw close to every day, and it is definitely not only for me to know by the time I depart from this physical world.
God Yahweh’s presence is precious to me here and now, if not, what else would I look forward to in heaven? May this fill our hearts with a renewed sense of gratitude this Easter.
